Ask someone (a visitor or a Pole) what the best thing about Poland is and they might very well answer: THE FOOD! Meat, cabbage, potatoes, and dairy are found in most Polish meals. Pierogi is the most popular Polish food. The word Pierogi is plural, even though those of us in the United States often say "pierogis" when we mean more than one.
Vintage video games and arcades are popular among teenagers. You can play pinball and pong in an arcade, just like in 1980! Roller staking is also popular among children and teens, not in-line skating, but old-school!
Kajko and Kokosz is a popular Polish comic book series for kids about two Slavic warriors. It is now a television show.
People in Poland are trying to work harder for the rights and health of children. One in four children in Poland live in poverty. Right now the government does not provide much aid for children and activists are working to change that.
Many Poles are also concerned with the air quality in Poland, as it is worse than the quality of air in the other countries in the European Union. We hope that things will continue to improve and we can have good thoughts for the future of the Polish people.
