Egypt has one of the longest histories of any country.  It is considered to be one of the "cradles of civilization."  The history of Egypt goes back to between 6000 - 4000 years BCE! 

The official name of the country is the Arab Republic of Egypt.  

Egyptian food is really good news for vegetarians.  Much of it is made of legumes and vegetables.

Kushari is made of rice macaroni and lentils mixed together topped with a spiced tomato sauce and garlic vinegar and garnished with chickpeas and crispy fried onions and is often served with sprinklings of garlic juice garlic vinegar and hot sauce are optional. Served with Egyptian Flatbread (Aish Baladi)
